Do not give up on the dream of Iran

Roya, a Belgian traveler from Feridun Canar, landed in Abbas Abad in Mazandaran after flying 150 km. The loss of the Dream causes Omid, the last survivor of the western herd of Siberian Deiranas, to once again travel the 3,600-kilometre route to Siberia alone. Omid is now 15 years old.

According to the informants, Iran newspaper wrote with this introduction:
Omid and Roya left the International Wetland in Fereydunknar on March 14 to travel to Russia, but Roya got stuck in Abbasabad, Mazandaran. Roya was the eleventh breeding insect to enter the project to revive the flight path of the western flock of Siberian terns in the past 26 years, But it failed to convince international and Iranian experts with this project to return the track.Kros Rabiei, head of the Department of Wildlife and Environmental Affairs in Mazandaran, told Iran: “The Siberian Terns International project is working with the aim of preserving the different tracks of this bird in Asia, but it has not yet succeeded in introducing it. cultivated species. in wild herds. According to him, experts are currently working in Abbasabad to return the dream to Feridunkanar. They plan to have Roya and Umid back together again next year, perhaps this time Roya will become Umid’s “flying duo” towards Siberia.

He says: The first time was in 1375 when two wild Derna chicks were brought to Faridunkanar from the International Derna Foundation in America. In those days, the number of western terns that came to Iran was 9 birds from several families of Siberian white terns that had two chicks under one year old, but did not interbreed with the wild tern family. He considers one reason the chicks do not fly with the wild tern is because of their late release, and says, “These two boys didn’t even fly.” 8 other terns were also brought to Faridunkanar in 2001, 2002 and 2007, and one of the terns fell on Anzali Road while returning. But experts returned the tuber to Feridunkannar and returned the bird to the flock the following year. Altaïr left Iran and finally found an unknown fate.

Roya is 8 years old
According to Rabi’i, Ruya came to Feridunkannar on the 6th of Bahman and left the temporary building on the 11th of Bahman. Ruya and Omid met in the famous Darna dance. “The Siberian Tern Breeding and Conservation Center in Belgium (cbcc) was raised by its parents and was not bred by human hands,” Rabie says. According to him, when Roya came out of the temporary temple, for the first few days, he was only with Hope during the day, but after that, they were together at night as well.
According to Rabie, international and national experts on this project put several scenarios in front of them from the outset. The first scenario was the same path that 10 terns had taken and were not on the path of the western flock. But the mixture of dreams and hope made the experts hope that dreams would fly with hope, but they did not know how long this journey would take! Were Dream Muscles strong enough for the 3,600 km journey? On March 20, it turned out that he was unable to accompany him, and in the end, after 150 kilometers, he stayed in the middle of the road and left Umid.
“There was no more than 300 meters between the feeding habitat of the Derna and where they rested at night. Therefore, the muscles of the Roa flight were not strengthened,” Rabie says. Roya and Umid lasted together in Faridunkanar for 33 days.

the shortest path
The 3,600 km flight path of western flocks of Siberian white terns to Iran is the shortest flight path for this Asian species. Their longest flight path leads to China, more than 5,000 kilometers long. According to Rabiei, Omid spent 130 days in Iran this year. “Experts hope that with the continuation of the project, the breeding terns will be able to fly more trails even before the end of Omid’s life, and with Omid’s guidance, this path will be maintained by the breeding terns,” he says. The terns that enter this project to the first station which is in the Shirvan wetland in the Republic of Baku (Azerbaijan) or the Narzuum wetland in Kazakhstan and rest between a week and 10 days, we can hope that they will reach the following destinations as well

The longest flight of a tern
Of the 11 terns that arrived in Iran, only one tern with wild terns reached Dagestan, Russia. “Many of these tubers had satellite tracking devices, and one of the trackers didn’t work at all from the start, and another one also failed in Bujak Anzali. This tuber also went to Dagestan, but after that no data or signal was sent,” Rabi’i says. .

International failure of the project
Iran and the Western herd path is not the only path that the Persians entered to maintain the path. Derna International Corporation has imported Derna breeding in other destinations, but it has not been successful so far. “International experts on this project have experimented with different methods of introducing breeding terns into wild herds,” Rabiei says. “They even laid the eggs of terns grown in the path of wild terns, but there was no round-trip.” Experts wonder if it was just the parents. Veteran ornithologist Ismail Kahram’s answer to this question is yes, but international experts on the project are still looking for a way to preserve the three flight paths of the Siberian white tern since the central flock became extinct en route to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Many believe that they are victims of the wars in Pakistan and Afghanistan. There is only “hope” left from the western flock, but the number of the eastern flocks towards China has been declared three thousand wings.

where is the dream
Umid left the dream in Abbasabad and left. Now experts plan to lure the dream towards themselves and bring it back to Vreidunnar with taxidermy left over from the Siberian tern and Hope’s voice playing at the heart of a cage-like structure made of reeds and native plants. According to Rabie, if this method does not work, they also use nets and traps. Roya will be at Omid’s side next year and another year.
