“According to Shafaf, I plan to go to Europe for another month to participate in the Dutch Glory or German Open Fusion,” Elah Mansourian, our country’s wushu champion, said of her program after the cancellation of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
Part-time Elahe Mansourian has pulled out of the WIF Championship for the national wushu team, but with the Asian Games in Hangzhou cancelled, the athlete is set to travel to Europe to compete in freestyle wrestling.
Regarding the cancellation of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Mansour said: “When the cancellation of the tournament is announced, we will be ready for the tournament.” However, it is difficult for an athlete to keep fit, but we have to deal with it. The Wushu Association must ensure that the bodies are ready by holding league matches. Of course, the lack of international competitions affects the athletes’ readiness, and we do not know anything about our competitors.
The Asian Games in Hangzhou have been canceled due to the outbreak of the Corona virus in China and are scheduled to be held in 2023.
Asked if there is any support for athletes, the wushu champion said: “The disciplinary economic situation of wushu is better than other disciplines.” Despite the fact that other athletes are in a difficult financial situation, our Air Force directors are in that position. Sepahan officials also support us.
Wushu is one of the medal-winning disciplines in Asian and world competitions, but the budget for this discipline is not large.
