The intense heat wave continues in South America

The southern United States experienced a prolonged heat wave yesterday (Tuesday).

According to Reuters, the temperature in the south of the country reached 38 degrees Celsius yesterday. Humidity also increased.

Meanwhile, in Chicago, children, the elderly, and those with respiratory illnesses have been warned to stay indoors for a very different reason: air pollution.

Local authorities in the United States have also stated that these conditions are dangerous to people’s health.

The National Weather Service also said about 62 million Americans in central Arizona, across Texas and parts of Florida were under heat watch, warnings and advisories that are expected to continue through early next month.

Yesterday, the US state authorities announced the death of a 14-year-old boy who suffered heatstroke while hiking with his brother and stepfather in Big Bend National Park in Texas.

Texas and other Southern states have experienced a historic heatwave in recent weeks.
